Thank you for that - very interesting. I know a lot of con goers do not appreciate what a delicate balancing act most concoms go through to try to deliver as much as possible without actually losing money.

Luckily, over here we don't have to worry about insurance and until recently venue costs have been quite moderate. But in the last few years the venues have really started to increase their prices so the cons have had to do likewise. Attendees who don't know about the increased costs have been complaining. As you say, they need some reality.
