The people I'd really like on my side in a pub brawl are the ones that basically nice, but with a determined stubborn pragmatic streak (which describes both of you). You want people that would get involved for the right reasons, but won't hesitate or wimp out. Of course, being built more like vanilla_extreme would help too.
