I think programmes such as Sex in the City and so on are somewhat responsible for the "a woman can mention her vibrator in casual conversation and it will raise barely an eyebrow" thing.

but what I find interesting, as a female, is that it is now ASSUMED you have a 'toy drawer' and the question is not so much about whether you have a vibrator ... but how many you have...
