*cackling* Yes, so horrible that you can't help but watch!

Seriously, I already had a pretty good idea that there was no real good reason for having it done (like any new parent, I read everything I could get my hands on about the decisions I might have to face), but I also had no idea there was actually so much risk involved in doing it. My original plan (if I ever had a son) was to ask the father how he felt, and as long as he wasn't adamant about having anything done then we'd stick with the status quo.

But now that I think about it, would a man be any more qualified to make this decision just because he shares the same equipment? That would be like letting any woman I meet on the street deliver my kids just because she also has a uterus and vagina. Having the equipment doesn't make you an expert. In the case of circumcision, it might give you a better perspective, but medical research ought to be the bigger guiding force here.
