The impossible tech is what shat me most. Every time they did something physically impossible, or presented something possible in a way that couldn't work, it kicked me right out of the film. So in many ways I couldn't judge it.

My initial response at the end was that I wanted to watch it again at some point in the future. Now I realise I have no desire to. So maybe I disliked it more than I realise.

The locket was the bit that really shat me, because it was always full screen, so you could see the differences in the various props they needed to pull off the illusion of it all being one locket. To me, given its importance within the context of the film, that was the clever device that needed to be real - it would have helped with selling the rest.

Prestige is a kick-arse flick. I've had people say that out of the pair, most people like whichever one they saw first. Maybe I should get Shaz to watch Illusionist first...
