Hot Fuzz

Hot Fuzz is the new comedy by the makers of Shaun of the Dead. Do not let anyone tell you anything about this film, the less you know, the funnier and more enjoyable it will be. It's better written and plotted than the vast majority of "big" Hollywood films, and it's very, very clever.

I genuinely had to resist the urge to buy a ticket for the very next session.

I feel the same way about this movie as I did Napoleon Dynamite.

It was mildly enjoyable, not the sort of thing you'd pay to see twice, and wait-a-minute-why-is-everybody-saying-this-is-the-best-thing
-since-pre-sliced-bread?

I'd recommend seeing it with a group of friends, as I think it's one of those movies.

I thought Napoleon Dynamite was very over-rated. Most of the characters are unengaging or unlikeable and it only starts to really work towards the end.

What I think makes Hot Fuzz exceptional (for me) just as a film, forget the comedy aspects, is the writing and plotting. Everything has a purpose, be it for character, story, or comedy value.

I love a well-written and thought out film, and they are incredibly rare these days.

I saw Napoleon Dynamite alone and completely strait. I have recommended to people that if they want to watch it they need company and lots of booze and/or drugs.

I say this cause I re-watched it while stoned and I thought it was hilarious. Go figure.

I've seen Napoleon Dynamite twice, once on a plane, the other at Clarion. The first time I hated it I figured it was because I'm petrified of flying and can't relax. The second time I hated it I knew it was the movie's fault and not mine. It was crap.
