Hot Fuzz is the new comedy by the makers of Shaun of the Dead. Do not let anyone tell you anything about this film, the less you know, the funnier and more enjoyable it will be. It's better written and plotted than the vast majority of "big" Hollywood films, and it's very, very clever.

I genuinely had to resist the urge to buy a ticket for the very next session.

Shaun of the Dead rocked, I still watch it from time to time! I saw the previews for Hot Fuzz... I can't wait to see it! Though odds are I'll have to wait until it comes to DVD. But then I usually seem to prefer doing that. I always get into trouble at movie theaters... at the Spiderman preview showing I could very well have gotten arrested.

I have this issue where I can't stand people who kick the back of my seat. Once or twice just shifting isn't bad, but when it's something they do a lot it drives me nuts like a steering wheel belt buckle.
So during Spiderman's release it was the practice run the theaters do to make sure the film is ready. Employees could invite friends and family to see the movie free of charge at midnight. I was invited to see the movie with my friend Jerod and these guys sitting behind me spent the first half of the movie making fun of my hairstyle "Heyyyy mr mullet! Mr mullet!" and intentionally was kicking the back of my seat pretending to stretch and yawning loudly. When one kicked me in the back of the head then wedged his feet between my seat and the next one on my arm rest I put his feet in a headlock and dragged him into the hallway and pinnedhim to the wall. (HE has to walk with his hands as I dragged him by his feet).
Technically that was assault, and he was under age. So if he decided to call the police it would have been assault on a minor. He was 17 years old. Since he couldn't torment me when he agreed he'd stop he fell asleep during the movie. He snored very loudly. It was tough to resist dropping a big ol' snotty wad of flegm down his throat with that wide open mouth of his!

I love movies like that.

I am very eager to see Hot Fuzz.

I felt that way about the Tenacious D film Pick of Destiny. Not cause it was clever. Just cause it was so hilariously wrong! ;)

Ooohhh... I still haven't seen it. I miss so many films. Bugger. And I like wrong :)

I saw Hot Fuzz the other day at Acmi when they had the director and actors down for a Q&A After the session. Was Very good! I laughed myself into severe agony.

There was this bit.... then this other bit.. and then.. oh you just have to go and see it!

David and Margaret gave it four stars apiece. Margaret gave the impression she thought it was better than Shaun of the Dead.

I feel the same way about this movie as I did Napoleon Dynamite.

It was mildly enjoyable, not the sort of thing you'd pay to see twice, and wait-a-minute-why-is-everybody-saying-this-is-the-best-thing
-since-pre-sliced-bread?

I'd recommend seeing it with a group of friends, as I think it's one of those movies.

I thought Napoleon Dynamite was very over-rated. Most of the characters are unengaging or unlikeable and it only starts to really work towards the end.

What I think makes Hot Fuzz exceptional (for me) just as a film, forget the comedy aspects, is the writing and plotting. Everything has a purpose, be it for character, story, or comedy value.

I love a well-written and thought out film, and they are incredibly rare these days.

I saw Napoleon Dynamite alone and completely strait. I have recommended to people that if they want to watch it they need company and lots of booze and/or drugs.

I say this cause I re-watched it while stoned and I thought it was hilarious. Go figure.

I've seen Napoleon Dynamite twice, once on a plane, the other at Clarion. The first time I hated it I figured it was because I'm petrified of flying and can't relax. The second time I hated it I knew it was the movie's fault and not mine. It was crap.

Napoleon Dynamite rulz!!!!

But Hot Fuzz is the real deal. Fantastic stuff and better than Shaun of the Dead by the smallest of margins.

Of course, Spaced Seasons 1 and 2 will always have my heart.

Lee pretty much did that. Okay, it wasn't the very next session but it was one only a day or two later. He took the two boys and then took me.

We loved it. We've just ordered Spaced from Amazon UK and have bought the Hot Fuzz soundtrack which is being played to death.

Oh yes, it will be a buyer when it comes out.
