Insomnia
The last week or so, I've been going to bed late. I've put it down to being crook and getting up unusually late. It didn't seem to matter what time I went to bed, I wasn't close to being asleep by 2am. I took it that I had stuffed my sleep cycles.
The last couple of days I've ahd late nights and early mornings with the desired effect - last night at 10pm, I was knackered and ready to collapse into bed and sleep. I was in bed by 10 past 10, lights out, all snuggled and warm.
And I didn't sleep.
There are times when you don't think you've slept but you've actually been dozing. This wasn't one of those. I lay down and BING, the brain kicked into overdrive and wouldn't friggin' shut down. I was still awake at 2am! Bastard!
Been a while since I had an insomnia cycle. I'd forgotten how much I hate them.

...Have you tried valerian tablets? I found that they helped when I was having trouble sleeping a while back.
Pharmacist Natural Formula (blue plastic bottle, in most Canberra chemists) do a version, so do Blackmores.
(You can also get valerian tea, but it tastes *foul* and you have to add honey to make it drinkable).
