Insomnia

The last week or so, I've been going to bed late. I've put it down to being crook and getting up unusually late. It didn't seem to matter what time I went to bed, I wasn't close to being asleep by 2am. I took it that I had stuffed my sleep cycles.

The last couple of days I've ahd late nights and early mornings with the desired effect - last night at 10pm, I was knackered and ready to collapse into bed and sleep. I was in bed by 10 past 10, lights out, all snuggled and warm.

And I didn't sleep.

There are times when you don't think you've slept but you've actually been dozing. This wasn't one of those. I lay down and BING, the brain kicked into overdrive and wouldn't friggin' shut down. I was still awake at 2am! Bastard!

Been a while since I had an insomnia cycle. I'd forgotten how much I hate them.

I've given up thinking I'll ever sleep well. Broken sleep is my problem. I'm not a fan of sleep these days anyway. Too much time in the past when I spent for 12 hour stretches in bed just because I didn't want to be awake and aware. Sleep feels like wasted time.

I sometimes use non-sleeping stretches as meditation time. But mostly I just get annoyed at it.

It's the frustrating thing that my brain is kicking into gear and getting filled with cool ideas to write about, but when I'm up and about, I'm too tired to do much writing.

You need a pad by the bed or a voice recorder.

sometimes I just have to write stuff. I cannot sleep till I do Usually I wake at 3 am and go back to sleep about 4. Total garbage on Tv at that time, but these days I can waste time doing Youtube. One night I upgraded my computer to an an untried version of Linux. couple of problems, but I kept downloading updates and It settled down. amazing what seems like a good idea at 3.30am. I think you have seen two or three fanzines from those nights, although the weirdest stuff came from Phil and I having three of four milos and going where it took us. good times--don't dare drink Milo these days, afraid of the chocloate in it.
