Bother!
Was having a really good, productive day and have suddenly had a really major attack of the blues. Everything is too hard and I'm just not coping with the world. Started crying while working on business stuff and just can't go on with it.
So, feel free to reply with your good news. Or a funny story. Or tell me about something you love and why. Sympathy and pity will only get fed on in this kind of mood, so would prefer to share in your joy :)

The computer system for my whole Department (about 1500 people) was nonfunctional from this morning until about 1pm this afternoon.
Normally this would annoy me, but since I wasn't unable to sleep until 2am last night (too much coffee during the day, combined with dark chocolate icecream for dessert, plus bad neck pain),
I was actually quite pleased to unexpectedly have a morning of decluttering for the upcoming building-move, rather than something that required actual brainpower and awakeness. (:
Plus, I am really looking forward to Claire's Halloween party tommorrow night. *grin*
Plus, I am also looking forward to seeing Barbara (exp_err) tommorrow morning and going for a walk in the sunshine.
Oh, and I've joined a gym, so soon I shall have more energy and bounce. (:
also, I am really enjoying watching the L word and reading Learned Optimism.
and I am looking forward to my shiny steampunk loot arriving from the US
and looking forward to going to Night's Edge.
Also, I am doing something on Wednesday night that I've never done before. Shall be an adventure. (:
Will tell you and S all about it on Tuesday.
(which I am also looking forward to (:)
oh, and the idea of you and Alisoun getting a chance to chat over the weekend really pleases me. (:
Alisoun is good value, and I think you will both enjoy talking to each other. (:

Now he needs to hurry up and be issued a work visa, so I can go over too, but it's still good news!
You will laugh

Ken got a victory over a pain in the arse staff member who is use to getting their own way .
Ken now has the power to say no to people that buy the non standard laptops and pcs, four years ago he didn't have that power.
Picture this : Maths lecturer turns up at Ken's office and says" I want this software installed on my computer".
"Where did you get that laptop from ?"
The guy of course gives the wrong answer and Ken says why didn't you ask me if you could buy that type of laptop .
The guy giver some lame excuse like " But I wanted this one, I don't have to ask you ".
Ken replies with "Take it home ".
The guy goes "But I need software on it ".
Ken turns into scary Ken but the guy is not phased and Ken tells him to go and see the fiance officer (the finance officer is a nice guy on the surface and firey on the inside not the kind of guy you want to make angry).
The guy storms off when he realises he is not going to win with Ken .
What I Love #1
The only way we can get Connor to remove his "Docca Oo" pyjamas is to show him that his Tardis t-shirt is nearby and ready to wear.
He will only go down to sleep at night if he's
1) Rotated through all seven messages on Lee's talking Dalek
2) Kissed said Dalek on the eye stalk
3) Said "Ni-ni Nanek"
4) Wearing his Dr Who pyjamas
He won't get into the car until he's said hello to the Tardis bumper-sticker.
If you ask him what he wants to watch he pulls out the Dr Who DVDs and says "Scare me" which is Connor for "I love this".
He accepts that his GP and his chiropractor are both called "Doctor" and yet look different because he knows "Docca Oo" changes face periodically. He thinks the chiropractor's Activator (a long instrument that is placed against joints and clicked) is a sonic screwdriver and asks to hold it at every appointment. Connor spends a lot of time in doctors' surgeries and always asks them about the Daleks.
For his birthday (four weeks away) he's getting a dalek egg cup that we found on e-bay. For Christmas he's getting a Doctor Who back pack and another pair of Dr Who pyjamas so we can have a space between washes.

What I Love #2
I woke up at 3 am this morning and felt a need to make sure everyone's okay.
After gazing for a few moments at my beloved I tip toed into Erin's, Aiden's, and Connor's rooms and found them all sleeping peacefully with not a care in the world. I whispered "I love you" to all three children and Aiden answered "Love you too Mum". I nearly cried.
Sometimes I feel so much adoration for my family I don't know how to express it. Thank you for this opportunity.
What I Love #3
I'm reading Oscar Wilde for the first time and he's brilliant. He's dry, he's witty, he's wise and so far beyond his years as far as social mores go.
