One down...

Well, Santa-ing for Glenn's family went well tonight. The kids were thrilled, Glenn and his wife seemed to enjoy the experience, I enjoyed doing it, it was good.

Glenn's a customer who became a mate, so it was nice to be able to repay all the business (and friendship) he's given me with a visit from Father Christmas.

It was bloody hard though. Been crook all day, struggled to get ready, but once I was in the suit - POOF! I'm the man, and ain't nuthin' gunna stop me! I'm in character, and I'm goin' for it!

Had lots of people toot or wave at Kringle in his 1970 Holden, too, which I always enjoy.

Got home, stripped off the suit, and it was like Fearless Fly taking off his glasses, except a little slower. Back to feeling really, really substandard and ill.

But very, very happy!

Tomorrow I get to do it again, not for the person who won the eBay bid (don't get me started... grrrr....) but for someone who saw the eBay ad and contacted me. Looking forward to that :)

What happened with the ebay bid?

Bidded, won at an insanely low price (I had no problem with that) and then never contacted me, even after repeated emails.

This included one that specifically said 'I'm having other people contact me asking me to Santa, but I'm turning them down until I know when and where you want me, as you're the bid winner, so please contact me as soon as is convenient.'

In a later email I said 'Look, if it was meant to be a joke bid and it just went wrong, I don't mind. Just tell me and we'll cancel it, no harm done.'

Never heard a thing.

Not replying is just damn rude. Glad today went well at least, and that tomorrow also goes well for you, all your family, and any others you're doing Santa for.

Did you see the legends of Santa thing on the tv the other night on SBS? I thought of contacting you as I know you have an interest, but by the time I noticed it, it was already on and would have been long finished where you were.

My brother donned the Big Red Suit for the kids at the local kindergarten this year. Usually they get a guy from the CFA to be Santa but apparently that guy had some 'personality issues' so they asked my brother instead.
Santa also usually turns up in a fire truck but they didn't let my brother ride it this year due to 'new rules' about who's allowed on it.

Coincidence?

Who knows? I can just see some pindick pencil pusher deciding that only fireys are allowed on an engine.

If the cloud cover will co-operate, I'm working on taking a picture of Father Christmas you may like for Worth1000 at some point. Have to see how I get on though.
