Buy DVDs ya Buggers!

I was going to put these up on eBay, but decided instead to pop them up on here to see if anyone on my friend's list wanted them first. They are all brand new, still in sealed plastic.

All bolded DVDs are still for sale, unbolded means the one I have on hand has sold. If you see something you like that's gone, I can order it in for you, though can't say when Roadshow will supply it.

I used Swancon's celebration of 70 years of BBC Telefantasy as an excuse to order in lots of old stuff. It's basically all stuff that I myself want. I order in the things I don't have, and if it doesn't sell after a while, I get to keep it.

So far this has back-fired dreadfully, as you can tell by the huge list of Doctor Who DVDs for sale. It's amusing in a cruel sort of way...

I can also order any of the older Doctor Who DVDs that have been released, and am expecting the new Davros Box Set (Genesis, Destiny, Resurrection, Revelation, and Remembrance of the Daleks for $130.00) within the next week or two.

Postage is extra, of course.  All comments are screened.

I do have a Master figure, not sure how much I'm selling it for, it's an import and I haven't done the maths to figure out how much to sell it for.

Will give you a price as soon as I have one worked out :)

Done and done, and Thursday's fine. With postage call it an even $75. I'll pop them in the post early this week.

The Quatermass Collection is a 3 disk set that has the two existing episodes of Quatermass Experiment (plus the scripts for the other four episodes), Quatermass II, and Quatermass and the Pit.

Extras are 40 min documentary on Kneale's BBC work, an extract from the Lime Grove Story with Kneale and Rudolf Cartier talking about television production, interviews with the founders of the BBC Special Effects Unit - Jack Kine and Bernard Wilkie. There is also a 48 page booklet that details the making of all three serials, put together by Andrew Pixley who has done a great job over the years detailing the production of Doctor Who.

So all up, it's a pretty nifty collection. Let me know if you want one and I'll order another couple in.

I'm not surprised you can get some of my stuff cheaper. Roadshow tend not to reduce the prices on their older stock (though occasionally they have specials), and of course the big guys get special discounts and offer cheaper prices because they work on volume to get their profits. And when someone like Big W has one of its 20%-off sales, it's often selling DVDs below cost. There's no way I can compete with that!

That said, I've yet to see the Key to Time box for anything under $140, most places seem to have it for $150 which is the recommended retail price. I'm still making what I think is a fair profit at $130, so I figure it all evens out in the end.

As I mentioned, I basically bring in the things I want for myself and try to sell them. My profit on most of the single DVDs is about $5.

I thought about mentioning some of this in the original post, but then figured I'd go into it if someone mentioned cheaper prices elsewhere. Personally, I often shop around for the cheapest price, balanced against how much running around I'd have to do to find it, and whether I feel like it :)

Bugger, I was hoping no-one would buy House of Cards because it so totally friggin' rocks and I wanted it! lol

At the moment, meeting in Melbourne CBD is kind of hard because I live in Canberra. However, I will down in Melbourne for a few days from the weekend of the 16th Feb, so we can try to organise something for then, though I'm not sure I'll be in the city much. I think we may be doing a thing at Pancake Parlour in the city Sunday night, if that works.

Or if you can't wait I can post it down bubble-wrapped in a post satchel for an extra $8.50. I'm easy either way.

House of Cards is so wonderfully well written and performed. Ian Richardson is fantastic and totally carries off the little asides to camera.

We did actually meet at something [livejournal.com profile] hespa put together when I still lived in Melbourne. She had a day in the park near the museum, then we all went to a nearby restaurant and yakked.

Will put up PP details once Shaz and I know for certain the times and such. And yes, 4 is the last season of Blake's Seven. I recently rewatched the other three, which still mostly hold up well. My memories of 4 aren't great, but I've been told by a number of folks that it's better than I remember. Regardless, the last episode still kicks arse :)

Yes, the New Beginnings Set is Keeper of Traken, Logopolis, and Castrovalva, and the Key to Time Box is all six stories.

Narnia is the 1988-1990 BBC series. Casanova is the version with David Tennant. Anything else? :)

Yep, it's all yours! I can try to drop it into the club in a few weeks too, if you'd like.

Supposedly series 2 of Tripods is due for release in September this year. Given that previously it was September last year, and pre-orders where being taken back in 2003, don't hold your breath.
