Pictures of the kids
As mentioned, lots of folks are having a bad time at the mo', hell, I've spent a chunk of the day in bed wishing I could sleep and being generally down and uncommunicative.
So for those of you who are cheered by such things, I present photos of the kids.
( several shots below the cut, including one that's probably NSFW, depending on how idiotic your workmates are... )

Dot Pointy Catch-up
There's been so much I've been wanting to write about in detail over the last few weeks, but given I started this nearly two weeks back, detail is obviously not going to happen, so it's dot point time!
( Life and assorted bits... kinda long... some Too Much Information at the end, so possibly want to avoid if you're delicate, a relo, or both... )

My Aussiecon 4 schedule
It's short, because I really wanted to avoid over-committing when I have to share toddler/baby caring duties - the more panels I do, the more double duties Sharon has to take on.
But have to admit, feels weird doing so little. In fact, I think it's been the least amount of panels I've been involved with in a very, very long time - I usually do a couple a day on average. Oh well, may instead try to put my energies into partying in the evenings once Lex, Shaz, & Zoe are asleep. And there's always the chance I'll end up on one or two panels at the last minute.
Oh, and I'll probably be on the Continuum table once or twice, too.

Dad and Kids photo post
I could be answering emails, but screw it.
Apart from MaybeZoe being born, haven't done a photo post in a while, and someone said not so long ago that they'd like to see some photos of me with Lex, so below the cut are pictures of the kids and I, in chronological order.
Warning, contains one shower shot that should be completely safe anywhere, but just in case, consider yourself warned.

Lex's behaviour so far in regards to MaybeZoe
Background - For the last several weeks prior to MaybeZoe being born, Lex has been moving steadily into a major developmental shift. We'd had people comment on him entering the 'terrible twos' before this, which we rejected as his troublesome behaviour coincided with major tooth-pain - in other words, he was in pain, so of course he was being unhappy.
But this new shift is different. He gets frustrated and confused very easily, even by things that previously didn't bother him. He gets angry, screaming, banging things, and not eating his food. He's also being exceptionally needy, constantly wanting cuddles, wanting an extended bedtime routine, and still screaming and crying when we leave him.
At the same time, he's showing a huge shift in his ability to understand concepts, and also referring to things from books that haven't been read to him for ages. The interesting thing about those books are that previously he never showed any understanding of the things referred to in them, or even said the words. Now he's coming up with many of them from memory, unbidden.
( And now MaybeZoe is here... )

Stopping to take a breath.
After 10 weeks incorporating over half of them being enforced weekends away for various reasons, and other weekday madness... I've stopped.
My plans for while Sharon was at Swancon were that I would only do the basics required to care for Lex - everything else could go to hell. The last couple of weeks especially, I've been so busy that playtime with him has been minimal, so it's nice to get back to my real priorities again.
Some of you may have noticed I'm doing a lot more on Twitter than on here. It's about being time poor. I always feel I have to make a 'proper' post on LJ (yes, I know, it's stupid, but I'm odd like that), whereas I have a random thought and I can just pop it up on Twitter. All the silly drivel I chuck up on Twitter is the same drivel that I'm tempted to put on LJ, and rarely do. So this is either a good thing or a very bad one.
Also, given how busy I've been of late, I've just not had time to read LJ. Started trying to catch up yesterday. So if there's important news you like I should, or would like to know, fill me in.
Spoke to Sharon yesterday. She was confused at having nothing to do. This is exactly why I sent her away. Oh, BTW, her PDA is dying, and her phone isn't going well. Any of you with advice for her on either, both, or devices that combine the two, please chat with her about them. She works best with info and needs to be looking into this, so you may help give her a great starting point.
My love to all of you at Swancon. Wish I was there, but you can all see me at WorldCon or next year's Swancon, or Continuum 7. *big hugs*

Portraits of 2009
Well,
stephiepenguin did a post on pictures that she took during 2009. So I'm pinching the idea and doing the same. All pictures of people, many of whom are holding Lex for some reason, and they're in chronological order. Every photo was taken by me, or was pretty much entirely set up by me and then I had someone else press the button.
I was quite pleased when I compiled this. I had felt like I'd hardly taken any pictures this year, but in actual fact I had hardly taken any travel pictures. There's plenty with people.
Goal for next year - more pictures of people (and hopefully some travel pics).

( +34 more, includes some harmless nudity, but consider yourself warned... )
