Migraines aren't usually taken all that seriously. I had a low-level one for about 2 weeks straight once, and my GP wasn't at all concerned.
If you do need to go hospital, maybe you should carry a letter from the doctor in your wallet in case ER docs don't do the right thing and you're not in the right state to explain how urgent it is to them. Easy to get fobbed off with a migraine when they're dealing with people who are bleeding and don't know your history.
