The other half of my life is not expressing interest or making a move for years, only to find that a few years back she might have been interested, but has moved on and isn't in that emotional place anymore.

Oh I know that. For instance, I've been lucky enough that to date, I haven't fallen hard for or been interested in someone who didn't like or care enough for me to be gentle with their rejection.

Which probably says more about the type of person I find attractive than anything. Compassion is a big thing with me.
