I talk to the people I know and am comfortable with, but try to get around to talking to at least a few new people every con because it's good to meet new folks. We may get on, we may hate each other, but there's only one way to find out.
Make sure you grab me promptly though (you're being given permission here *grin*) as I have to spend a lot of time resting these days, and may disappear for hours at a time.
Actually, the elite thing is funny. I had one person who thought I was off at hidden exclusive room parties every convention, when in fact i was often going to bed early because i didn't know where any room parties were :)
And hey, if we chat, maybe I can hand you so wood for the fire :)
