Sadly, nudity isn't something that comes up with my friends ... well, ever. I remember many, many years ago being at a small party with two other couples that were close friends, and one of the girls suggested a game of strip poker. Through sheer bad luck, I ended up being the first naked. It ended up being a good night, just a bunch of folks sitting about in the raw talking, but on a whole new level.
The girl who suggested it told me privately later that she was really glad when I was the first one naked, as she felt I was likely to be the most relaxed about it. I was both kind of shy, and sort of relaxed, figuring that okay I was now naked in front of everyone, but they'd soon be the same way too.
Have you tried telling your partner exactly what you just said in your last sentence? They don't have to be exploitative nudes by any stretch, and you can give them the option of deleting them all if they aren't happy with the finished pics.
For security, I keep my nudes in a Truecrypt file with an 18 character password, which keeps them safe from any curious folks who might get access to my PC. I figure I owe it to anyone who has posed for me to make their files as secure as possible.
