Having seen the big brother of the lizard from the Den of Nargun wandering down the middle of the road, the paparazzi gave chase. Here is one of the photographers pursuing said lizard. The lizard, a two metre long goanna, then ambled up a tree.
When asked later, the goanna said "I vant to be alone."

Spot the goanna!
(Actually its proper name is Nigel, not Spot)

Fuck off!

GOANNA GETS GEAR OFF IN TREE!
Nigel, the well-known Mitchell River resident was seen cavorting naked in the trees near the Nargun's Den. "Britney and I are just friends!" says naked Nige. See page 3 for the full report, and more hot pics!

As we continued on to Canberra we found this bridge that was calling to be explored.

The wood on this section had some nicely spongy bits.

All the work to put this thing together, and then it's just left to rot. I'd say it was sad, but now it's famous on the Internetty, where it will live forever! But it will only become more famous when I get nakedbridgegirls.com up and running. Send me naked pictures if you'd like to be exploited model for this quality site.

I love the complexity of these structures. Makes you wonder how hard it was to build these things with the primitive equipment of the time.

Oh, it was an Ikea bridge, here's one of the numbered parts. Dear God, that just makes the whole thing so much more impressive!

The next day I saw the second live echidna I have seen in the 'wild.' The first was on the way down to Melbourne.

Prick!

This little guy wasn't too bothered by us, once we'd been there for a few minutes. In fact as I photographed it, it wandered towards me close enough that I couldn't actually keep it in focus.

And that's it for the return journey!
