And wiring my dreads is a good idea! I've been sticking shiny things in them lately, which is fun, but I think you may have just inspired a whole new use for those glittery pipecleaners you can get at craft-stores, which I never saw a purpose for until now.
We should catch up one of these days - Jai's been muttering about a brief trip to Canberra to make sure it's still there, I should ask if he has actual dates in mind so I can see if they work for you!
