I am sorry, I was at the masquerade and whilst not necessarily the highest of your and Nicks effort, I can honestly say there was not anything that offended me or that I would think was offensive, in poor taste maybe but not offensive.
You said, "It's not his fault he was distressed, he didn't deserve to hear something that hit him that hard, it's my fault for presenting the material." but everyone is responsible for how they react to every situation. This is what is taught in anger management courses and is true for these situations as well. You are only offended as you let yourself be.
The ONLY thing the concom have to apologise for is for making you both MC a very under supported event with minimal preparation.
