In order to encourage his goal, I present the pics I've been meaning to put up for ages - My trip to Lake Ballard. The original post talking about the day is here if you want some context.

The road to Lake Ballard.



View from the outskirts of the lake. You can see a couple of statues in this shot.



One of the 50+ statues scattered around the area. All were based on laser scans of local people. This is a lady statue.



Close-up view of the texture of the salt lake. I love the look of the crystals. Some sections were pure salt, others were more like this.



Dead emu(?) with statue in the distance. Skeleton was so far gone it was hard to tell, but pretty certain it was emu. Thought it looked great as it was, so didn't want to distrurb the bones to try and figure it out for certain.

I love it when nature gives us lines of colour like this. Whites and greens and reds and blues.



Naked and enjoying the sun, the red sand, and the view. I"ve been on salt lakes before, but never one this big.

I like landscapes and I like human bodies. Landscapes are difficult but people are really hard to photograph. Especially when they are yourself and you're using a timer.

If you ever want to volunteer... *hint hint*

Yes, I like your style, so I'd consider it under certain circumstances, but I'm actually not as photogenic as you'd think. This is not vanity speaking; the two dimensions of photos somehow kill whatever it is in my face that people respond to. But it might still be worth trying. If you catch me in the right mood on the right day :)

Assuming I'd be brave enough to ask you in person. My brain tends to cut me off early with a "don't annoy them, if they were interested, they'd say," most of the time.

One of the reasons I try to use only natural light is because then you know what lighting/shadowing you're going to get. Doesn't mean the photo will catch what your eye has seen, but it's a start. Interestingly, I'm better at self-portraits than I am at photographing other people. I know my body well enough to know what sort of pose will work in a shot that contains me, I'm still learning to do that with other people.

Oh and I take lots of pictures. I took 150 piccies over 4-5 hours at Lake Ballard. These are just the ones I liked enough to put up.
