Woke up at 6, wrote and got latest story up, faffed around and did a small amount of stuff, then went off to meet up with
oothoona. We had decided to get together and have a yak, and today was the day.
I don't write about everyone I meet up with, but Oothoona is an exceptional person. Clever, funny, compassionate, thoughtful and gorgeous. Met up at 2 and was expecting to talk for an hour or two, given I was feeling tired - we finished up the chat at around 6:30-ish. Could easily have chatted the night away, very easy to talk to.
Had a party to go to tonight, but I'm a wee bit tired, it's bucketing down, and most importantly, the wiper that got replaced recently jammed on the way home. I was able to unjam it, but don't fancy driving the car in the rain until I've had a look to see if I can fix it or bodge something up. Would actually like to go to the party, though I'd probably only last an hour before I wanted to crash, but buggered driver's side wiper + heavy rain = no go.
But, had a fantastic afternoon with someone I would love to chat to and hang with lots more. Yay!

She's one of my favourite people.
Next time that you're going to a party that I'm going to anyway, and you have car troubles, phone me and I'll give you and Sharon a lift. I was going from Dickson to Melba anyway, so it would have been the most minorest of detours. (:

I seriously thought about ringing you and asking for a lift, but was aware that I was probably only up to about an hour or so of socialising and would need to come home, and wasn't prepared to disrupt your evening to that degree. But thank you :)

Thankyou for your lovely words. If I were a different person I could reply in kind; however my fondness for shy, geeky types means that over the years, too many complements I have offered have been shaken off or flung back, and I am shyer than I'd like to be when it comes to that level of honesty. Which makes me sad.
I will say this though - I couldn't help but notice when we hugged, your skin smelled like burned sugar. I am mystified as to how an adult human being manages to smell like I imagine a sweet shop from the 1880's might have done...

I so should work in an 1800s sweet shop, complete in striped shirt, bow tie, and massive handlebar moustache :)
As to compliments, I offer them when I feel them, because you never know if you'll ever have the chance to do so again. And I've trained myself to be better at accepting them, rather than doing the automatic "No I'm not" reaction that is actually incredibly rude and impolite to the giver of the compliment.
Though I do still go all shy sometimes :)

*claps hands*
Oh, you so have to come back as an 1800's sweet shop owner in your next life!
