The curtain was a late addition to Alpha Centuri. The director Lennie Mayne insisted on something, because as he put it, Centauri looked like "a giant green dick."
After the addition, Centauri became known as the "Dick in a jacket."

Apparently a whole bunch of SFX shots for the /84 Dune film had to be reshot because the orignal sandworms looked too much like penises ... 400m long penises.
Have you ever seen H.R. Giger's sandworm designs for the 1976 attempt at making Dune? His main picture of them looks like white ribbed penises with teeth swallowing a big black biomechanoid penis! Maybe it was meant to be a political or social statement.
