Goodbye Bump 1.0

Please *don't* SMS or ring us. I'm at hospital with Sharon, who has had a sudden miscarriage. She's fine apart from the obvious issues.

To save us having to spread the news, we'd appreciate you folks letting our non-LJ friends know.

Shaz is resting in hospital for the night, they'll run tests tomorrow just to confirm what we already know. We decided that if I was getting a taxi to go move the car, given my state of tiredness and the fact that I hadn't eaten or drunk anything for the day, we thought that me coming home was probably the best option. If Shaz wants/needs me back out there tonight, I'll be calling a taxi.

We're both doing ok. Very upset but not devastated, and we both still have our good humour. We even had a laugh about the awfully tactless and very blunt nurse who was trying to console us. She was like a character straight out of The League of Gentlemen.

'Did you know that 50% of pregnancies miscarry? Most miscarriages are for the best though because it means there was something wrong with the baby.' I couldn't make up this woman if I tried!

*gap of an hour*

I've now eaten. Now to bed. Thanks for all the kind wishes, we both appreciate them. The main reason for the ban on phoning/messaging was so we wouldn't be getting disturbed while either resting or talking to the doctors.
