I leave later today to head for Melbourne so I can do a little businessy stuff, and more importantly attend Continuum Relit.

Taking a new route down, using the Monaro Highway. It'll mean I approach Melbourne from the East, the side of town where most of what I have to do is. It takes an extra 80 odd km, but on the other hand I don't have to cross town once I arrive. If I had more time I'd crash the night in Bombala on my way down and try to get photos of platypuseseseses in the morning. Oh well, another trip, maybe.

It's going to be a flying visit, one where I catch up with virtually no-one, which is how most of my future business-type trips to Melbourne will be. Being the home dad, I have to be back in time to look after Lex again on Monday. For this trip, since I had to get to town during business hours on a weekday to do a chunk of what I needed to do, Sharon has taken an RDO for tomorrow. She and the boy aren't coming with me, which is sad, but on the other hand I will have room in the car for non-baby stuff!

Hopefully I'll see some of you at Relit. No need to RSVP any more, that was just so we had approximate numbers for the food (a range from carnivore to vegan appetites). Free nibbles, socialising, drinks, an announcement or two, and the very scrumptious Continuum 5 committee will be there too... how can you resist?

It was very very tempting, but I still haven't managed to attain the necessary mental state which allows me to fly somewhere just for a weekend. (Though I may work on it next year for the AusKoL meet in Sydney over ANZAC day weekend)

Just want to clarify that the scrumptious committee aren't what the nibbles are made out of.
*worries*
I still need this committee for lots of work, you know!
