Just some extra things I forgot to mention...

* While seated and holding Lex in the kitchen the other week, he head-butted me, driving my head back into the wall. *Whack* *Thud*
"Nice one, Lex," I said, prompting him to do it twice more in rapid succession. *Whack* *Thud* *Whackthud!*

* Lex is now shit scared of my dalek.

* hehehehehe...

* Lex only started to properly crawl a week or so back. Within a couple of days of nailing crawling, he started to pull himself up to standing using things like the couch. A day after that, he started trying to actually climb up onto things like the couch. Too fast!

* Tomorrow night at 7:30 on SBS is the Botswana episode of Top Gear. If you've never seen the show, or have seen an episode but didn't like it, try this one. This is the one that turned Sharon into a fan. I've been married to her for over a decade, and I have literally never seen her laugh so hard for so long. She was in real pain by the end.
Basically, if this episode doesn't get you in, Top Gear will never be a show you'd enjoy.

* She's sitting beside me and giggling now, just thinking about it.

* I have decided that at some point, within the next few years, I will have to get a theremin.

* Continuum 5 seems to be shaping up well. We're going, who else is?

* Lex also gets to listen to Uncle Terry on PaleoCinema fairly regularly.

* Four Lex pictures below the cut...

Lex in his Mitch? bodysuit, practicing the Dr. Evil gesture.

Lex contemplating which bit of the toy to play with first. The toy came from his Godfather, big sexy Nick Stathopoulos. There's a present from his Godmother, big sexy Karen Moseley, in the background.

Lex discovering the back of our fridge in his now endless wandering.

PS. My mum keeps telling me how babies typically move from crawling to walking quite fast. Seems to be once they get the hang of coordination teh sky is the limit. She didn't understand why I'm trying to baby proof everything so early on 'cos "He won't crawl until he's at least 7 or 8 months." Having seen him recently my parents now understand why I think he's going to be an early mover!

advice I got regarding the crawling-to-walking thing: don't let them go from one to the other too fast, as the crawling can be important in developing pathways that are later used in reading!

I can't remember the exact numbers, but the friend who told me about it had a child who was standing up at 7 months (as was my eldest), and they were 'knocking zer down', and making zer crawl - basically discouraging walking - for about two months.

He's grown SO fast! Looks like he's also going to get hair as fast as Aerin did. She's nearly two and we're just able to get pigtails in.

*sob* Continuum... the other reason why I'm sad I left Melbourne.

Great pix, but doesn't letting an infant listen to my podcast constitute some aural form of child abuse? ;-)

Great pics, he's growing into a certain cuteness which I am sure has nothing to do with his dad and everything to do with Sharon :-P (though it implies that at some point twenty years from now we'll find out what Sharon's face looks like with a huge monster beard...)

Definitely going to Continuum, all three of us. Not organised for it yet (and won't be until a few weeks before I imagine), but definitely going. Already starting to have stories of the right genre appearing in my head and wanting to be written, too.

Continuum

Mikee is doing the Tech side of it, but I think that's as close as we'll get this time 'round.

Re: Continuum

Bum, would have been good to catch up with you.

Oh well, I'll have to lavish attention on Mikee, and he can pass it on.
