Not much watched recently. Lex has changed his daytime sleeping habits, so it's taken most of this week to find the new balance. Plus I've been madly researching houses for my overnight trip to Cooma - want to check some out and strike them off, or add them, to our list of potentials. Plus plus, been watched Pertwee's first season so I can pre-record my bit for Swancon. I think Doctor Who and the Silurians is an underrated story.

Fourteen movies watched since the start of the year. I'm rather pleased about this. Keeping the list means that even though I don't feel like I've watched many, I can go, "Fourteen? Cool!" I'm quite pleased at the range of years I'm going through.

Good luck on the Cooma trip.

Interestingly, while I can see this via my messages (you're among the people I keep track of new posts from) it isn't showing up on my friend's page. I wonder if it will do this in about 3 hours when my local time reaches the 'time' you posted it.

I haven't been watching many movies at all. Though I did watch Ponyo the other day having received it for Christmas. While good, I think I agree with [livejournal.com profile] angriest that it's not Miyazaki's best movie, but that also I am possibly not the target audience. Still excellent compared to a lot of other movies though.

My Year 8s, on the other hand, love Ponyo. I'm actually restructuring the last half of my year 8 unit around the film because with the vocab they'd be learning around the same time they end up being able to make up a poster saying the following: 'My friend's name is Ponyo. She is 5 years old. She lives in the sea. She likes ham! She also like Sosuke.'

I've still got to rewatch The Silurians, and see if Planet Video still have a VHS copy of The Ambassadors of Death.

If you can't find Ambassadors let me know and I can copy the pair of DVDs I've got it on... or try to, anyway. My burner is being weird.

Silurians is one that is definitely better when watched one a day. And I insist that it be called Doctor Who and the Silurians for the entire panel, 'cause that's its title :)

I loved Kung Fu Hustle. That was a movie James tried to bribe me with when he first came over here to visit (and persuade). We had a lot of fun watching it together, even though I resist watching movies.

It's the sort of film I could never see the US making, which is both good and a shame.

I love the landlady :)
