So, today I left Lex's room and called him to follow me and get something to eat. I got down the hall and nothing happened. Normally food over-rides almost everything else, but obviously not this time. I called him again. Still nothing. I called him a third time, then went to go get him. This is what I found...

He loves his books, that boy!

That chair is where he sits on our laps as we read to him, so obviously it was the only place he could sit to read his book!

And since I'm posting one picture, may as well post two more.

This was Lex on New Year's Eve.

And this is Lex... ummm... this is Lex.

Yep! He's a climber. I love watching him try to climb into the car. It takes ages but he just doesn't give up!

Once he's in, he then clambers over into his child-seat.

Yep. He actually started reading that one next, after Josephine Wants to Dance.

That is *awesome*! I think I had that book.

Does he have The Monster at the End of the Book?

Not as yet. I haven't seen it in any of the bookshops. But I will!

I loved the pic you sent to me today!

*love you all heaps*

Aww, how gorgeous!

Lex and Clara are destined to be together - Clara did basically the same thing the other day :)

I'm hoping to do a trip with Lex before new bub comes along. If it happens, and if I make it down to Melbourne, I really want to catch up.

Won't have any opportunity during C6.

I concur with my learned friend: you and Sharon are obviously doing it right. :)

Wow, look at how grown-up he's getting! And an early reader - makes this ex-teacher cry a little. If only every child thought of books like this...

One of my cousins is a Godmother to him. She saw the picture and replied with 'like father like son.'

Sharon, however, will read cereal packets. Then reread them every morning!

Dawwwww, he's getting *so* big!!
That's just beautiful.

He loves books. He was born into the right family for that love :)

I suspect when he's older that threatening him with 'no story tonight' will be the most terrible punishment imaginable. Naturally he'd have to be very very naughty to threaten him with that though.

that great to see. Boy who loves books. I was the same at his age. THe picture is a delight.

Latest Doctor Who Magazine has a picture of Steven Moffatt aged 11, reading Doctor Who in an exciting adventure with the Daleks :)

That is just great. Really is. Makes me think I should read to Sparrow more.

Lex gets read to for at least a few minutes before every nap or sleep. I also make a point of making the time to read to him if he picks up a book and brings it over to me. I can't always drop what I'm doing, but most of the time whatever is going on can be delayed for a couple of minutes.

Mind you, sometimes I just have to say no, otherwise he'd keep bringing me books all afternoon!

There are days I wish all kids were like that...

Hurray, another book lover in the world. My daughter loved a small book called 'Mouse Monster', and 'Ten in the Bed'. My son liked 'Where the Wild Things Are' and 'Oh Dear' when he would let us read to him at all.

Clara is obsessed with 'Each Peach Pear Plum", calling it her 'Tom' book because of Tom thumb. I've read it so often that I can recite it by heart, and Clara still does the actions for them that she's made up.
