Looks like a great, homey place.

Dealing with the lawn could well be a right pain in the arse, though. (Keeping it both alive and mown, that is.)

Aiming to give a chunk of it over to trees, veggies, and a corner of nothing but local native stuff allowed to go wild.

That'll reduce the amount to mow a bit, eventually.

Front yard is big enough to also have some trees in it. May plant some fruit trees so the neighbours can pinch some now and again.

Cool! Oven a bit further out of young'n's reach and requires less bending to access. And definitely not lacking in back yard there.

Look fabulous, particularly the big back yard. I'm a big proponent that ALL kids should have a childhood with a big back yard. I know not always possible, but damn! When I think of the fun my brothers and I had in our massive back yards, first Penrith then here in Canberra, it makes me weep for kids who have a balcony on the apartment. I mean, how do you play cricket, or do your own olympics in that space?

The land used to belong to a school, so this backyard actually has its own cricket pitch. It's no that well placed, but I kind of like it :)

There's a small playground on the nearest corner, and a small art gallery one or two doors down.

Sounds the perfect place to raise a family. And having your own private cricket pitch! You're now almost obligated to raise the next Aussie cricket captain :)

That is one big arse backyard. I like it.

BTW, did I miss something? Did you buy a house? (I don't keep up with your tweets.)

From: [identity profile] dalekboy.livejournal.com

We put in an offer, it's been accepted, so as long as nothing goes wrong, it'll be our within a month or so.

And I don't keep up with anyone's tweets or LJs. But I'm sure that improve once we have two children :)

Ooh. Very nice. And in my erratic online-ness I'd missed you were moving and/or buying till now, so congratulations!

Been looking ever since we moved to Canberra. Made an offer on this place and it's been accepted, so hopefully nothing will go wrong.
