Loving the gender mix

Lex has been running around this morning, varying between playing with his toy drill, and carrying around and cuddling MaybeZoe's pink Minnie Mouse soft toy.

It's nice to watch. I like that he's free to play with whatever he wants. I know some of my relos would have been taking Minnie Mouse off him and giving him 'boys' toys to play with. As it is, I'm sure some will be quietly horrified.

What a shame.

Jadzia received a cement truck that came with three balls from her Auntie Jo and Uncle John (yes John Robertson). She loved playing with it straight away particularly the balls first and later the cardboard pack and ignore the wrapping paper .The only thing she plays with that I would class as girly is a My Little Pony that we gave her from my collection cos she kept wanting my witchy pony . Jadzia tends to like her blue bear at fav grandparents place and doesn't pay much attention to the pink Minnie Mouse and seems to obsessed with ducks since the naming ceremony/1st b'day.

TwentiesGirl's first Xmas present was a packet of pegs and a laundry basket. She sat in the basket all day, pegging parts of her clothes. Happiest she's ever been.
TwentiesGirl got both dolls and cars, fairy dress and old dinner suit.
TeenBoy: despite household ban on guns, bit toast into a gun and repeatedly shot his sister.
TeenBoy: loved a petticoat and a fake fur coat from the dress up box more than anything for about 2 years, and only switched his allegiance once a tatty yellow tutu was added.
TeenBoy: had his very own My Little Pony, and Star Castle.
Both of them: hated Ken and took his head off because they liked him better that way.
Taralye bush dance: TwentiesGirl went as a cowboy, TeenBoy cried when he could not be a dance hall girl in public(dad wouldn't let him).
Let the kids play with what they will.
