My mum the artist - 1 Carl

Mum did her first painting yesterday. She's already talking about doing another one today. It is so wonderful to see her actually take an interest in something. It may die off, but I hope it doesn't. There's a life to her when she talks about painting that we seldom get to see.

She painted Carl (which should be written as Kal as his name is actually short for Kaled Mutant - as a pup he spent a lot of his time with his head stuck in cans) yesterday and is talking about trying to do some plants today.

Whether they have talent or not, I love being around creative people.

Um, actually, that's a remarkable expressive capture of that particular little hellfiend of a dog. The details are smudgy, but the personality is all there.
