Had some requests for a couple of pics, close-ups, etc. of the comet.

Base standard shot

Same shot, at full scale but cropped. I try to take all my pics at the maximum size my camera can do, 2272 x 1704 pixels.

Same pic, same scale, cropped differently because I'm a doofus, but with the brightness upped a bit so you can see more detail.

The first pic one last time, given the brightness adjustment. Check out the tail!

First attempt to check if there would be too much ambient light to get Shaz and I in a shot with the comet. This pic came out very dark so I used Picasa's "I feel lucky" function to make it see-able. The quality drops but you can see a lot more detail in the tail.

Second attempt, 1 and a half minutes later. If you flip back and forth between this shot and the one above, you can see the movement of the comet and stars due to the rotation of the Earth.

And because I was asked, the brightened up pic of Shaz and I with the comet.

Jealous!

No, mustn't start to think about doing an emergeancy Nullarbor run just to see the comet over the Nullarbor or Eucla... but it's only half the distance to Perth... No! No, no... mustn't...
