We're theoretically leaving Friday... although at this rate, I suspect it will be Saturday morning! We'll be around Melbourne and the Mornington peninsula for the week each side of the con, and obviously at the con:-)
Just starting to panic about how to occupy the not quite 2 year old on the drive... he doesn't tend to listen to audio books quite like the other two, and colouring-in doesn't hold his attention the same way, either!
possibilities: one biscuit tin of solid state figurines (this I can lend you), endless supply of nibblies that require dexterity and time to eat (eg. fruit loops, currants, in tsp quantities in a bowl), small rattling object (I think that B had two or three little noise makers), puppet(s) that adult in front/beside can use to make commentary on the road, favourite cds/songs to sing. I think we had a biscuit tin of finger puppets as well, which I would be willing to lend.
I had actually intended to add the box of puppets to the travel list (which includes the finger puppets)—just hadn't actually done it:-) I have little cars/trucks/buses in a box. The ipod is loaded with many songs/stories (and plays through the radio). I think I do have a bag of figures that were given to us before the owner moved to Melbourne... that I haven't got out previously because we had no need for them... Small rattling objects would probably be a hit:-) Will have to work out what we have that can't be opened:-)
I just think he's amazingly brave to volunteer to share a hotel room with a toddler. Either that or totally misguided :-) He'll tell us afterwards which it was, I'm sure.
Yup. Not sure which days and times I will be attending though. Having to take care of parenting responsibilities, i will not be going to the whole thing, and it is doubtful I will be attending any evenings.
*waves* I'll also be soaking up the atmosphere of having almost all my lovers or almost lovers in the same city with me :P I may be blushing/grinning/innuendoish for the whole time :P
yep, I am going Saturday on a day membership. Doing a panel on fan clubs too, well MSFC life membership is good for the cred. Going to Dudcon 3 on Friday night. Must vote in best fannish cat. Of and do the Ditmar ballot too. Best fannish achievement, childrens programme at 2009 Adeliade Natcon.
Yeah we are coming . We were uming are ring about whether we where still coming due to Ken possible changing jobs but he is staying in his crappy job till we get back .
We were also figuring whether to drive or get a plane to Melbourne but since Ken's cars have been flakey looks like we are taking the plane .
