So, who here is going to Aussiecon 4 (if you answered this question on Twitter, don't feel you need to answer again)?

We're theoretically leaving Friday... although at this rate, I suspect it will be Saturday morning! We'll be around Melbourne and the Mornington peninsula for the week each side of the con, and obviously at the con:-)

Just starting to panic about how to occupy the not quite 2 year old on the drive... he doesn't tend to listen to audio books quite like the other two, and colouring-in doesn't hold his attention the same way, either!

possibilities: one biscuit tin of solid state figurines (this I can lend you), endless supply of nibblies that require dexterity and time to eat (eg. fruit loops, currants, in tsp quantities in a bowl), small rattling object (I think that B had two or three little noise makers), puppet(s) that adult in front/beside can use to make commentary on the road, favourite cds/songs to sing. I think we had a biscuit tin of finger puppets as well, which I would be willing to lend.

I had actually intended to add the box of puppets to the travel list (which includes the finger puppets)—just hadn't actually done it:-) I have little cars/trucks/buses in a box. The ipod is loaded with many songs/stories (and plays through the radio). I think I do have a bag of figures that were given to us before the owner moved to Melbourne... that I haven't got out previously because we had no need for them... Small rattling objects would probably be a hit:-) Will have to work out what we have that can't be opened:-)

Good ideas (and reminders:-) ) Thanks!
